Guide of Istanbul Levent
Levent Although not really on the tourist map, this business district that is now booming in Istanbul and is full of high rise office, high rise apartment blocks and complexes. There are several excellent restaurants that suit the business population in terms of palate and pocket and two very upmarket shopping centres, the Kanyon and the Istinye Park.
Levent was possibly named after the sailors (“levend”) of the Ottoman navy who acquired the name from the Italian word that described people from the Eastern Mediterranean. It may also have come from a farm was commemorated and worked by Cezayirli Hasan Paşa in the 18th century.

Kanyon Shopping Center
Kanyon opened in Levent in 2006 and is a very impressive upmarket mall with open air sections and has a good range of eateries. Here you will also find one of Istanbul’s most popular and “uber chic” places to be seen, the Wanna restaurant-nightclub.
Istinye Park Shopping Center
The newer Istinye Park is in Maslak and opened in 2007, it has an IMAX cinema, a Spice Market food hall similar to Harrods in London or the Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco, and a plethora of excellent places to eat; it has all the high street labels along with an outdoor section reminiscent of Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles where you’ll find every conceivable upmarket designer label on offer. In the Spice Market look out for cheese sectionwhich offers a huge range of delicious Turkish cheese; try a vast variety of Turkish breads or buy scrumptious honey from organic market
Metro City Shopping Center
There is also the Metro City mall which is in Levent, it opened in 2002 and has rather more modest shops than the others.

The Kanyon and Istinye Park malls offer a huge and varied choice of places to dine and you will find them all clustered together. At Kanyon the less salubrious fast food places sit behind their upmarket competitors, and at Istinye Park you can dine whilst watching people shop in the food hall.Zorlu Center has gurme restaurants with Bosphorus views
